A college student was hacked to death by some stalkers at Namagonda in the municipality area on Tuesday night for protesting an incident of eve-teasing, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Maruf Khan, 21, a student of Dhaka Commerce College and son of Ataur Rahman of the area.
Quoting locals, Bulbul Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said the killers were disturbing a girl on Tuesday night while she was going by the road around 9:30 pm.
Seeing the matter, Maruf came forward and rescued the girl.
Later, the stalkers followed his way for around half a kilometre and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later, locals took him to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC added.
A case was filed.
