SSC examinee commits suicide hours before exam

A 17-year-old Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee died after he allegedly off a six-storied building in Rangpur hours before he was to sit for this year's exam that began Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Wasif Rayhan, a student of Rangpur Zila School and son of Abu Taher Md Masud, additional district commissioner of Rangpur, reports UNB.

Wasif jumped from the rooftop of the building at Keranipara around 7:00 am, said Officer-in-Charge of Rangpur metropolitan Kotwali police station Hossain Ali quoting the family.

As no complaint was filed in this regard, the body was handed over without any autopsy.

The reason behind the suicide could not be known yet, he said.
