Six policemen - four officials and two constables - in Brahmanbaria have been suspended for hiding a drug recovery.
They are sub-inspectors Shyamal Mazumdar, Monir Hossain; assistant sub-inspectors Faruque Hossain, Salauddin; and constables Shahjahan and Kashem.
Kosba Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Md Mohiuddin said the suspended recovered drugs and seized two private cars at T-Ali interjection on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.
But they did not share the information of the recovery with the relevant authorities. Later at night, it came to light resulting in their suspension immediately, he said.
A probe body has been formed about this, with additional superintendent of Brahmanbaria police Md Iqbal Hossain in the lead.
