A total of six Bangladeshis were killed and another sustained injury in incidents of violence along Bangladesh-India border in January 2019, according to a local independent rights body.
A total of 15 Bangladeshis were killed and 15 others injured in incidents of violence along Bangladesh’s border with India in 2018, according to a report of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
ASK report noted that five people were shot dead while one succumed to physical torture in the border areas in 2019.
One person was abducted during the same period in the border, the report added.
