The Shipping Ministry on Sunday signed “Annual Performance Agreement” (APA) for 2018-19 fiscal with subordinate 12 offices and organisations aimed at accelerating government’s work and enhancing accountability and transparency.
Shipping Secretary Md Abdus Samad and head of 12 offices and subordinate bodies signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions at a function at the ministry meeting room, said a press release.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan attended the function.
The offices and institutions are Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Bangladesh Land Port Authority, Chittagong Port Authority, Mongla Port Authority, Payra Port Authority, Department of Shipping, Bangladesh Marine Academy, National Maritime Institution and National River Protection Commission.
Addressing on the occasion, the minister urged the official and employees of subordinate organisations to work hard to make the ministry more successful, reports BSS.
He said because of the cooperation of owners, workers and passengers, the ministry ensured safe journey of Eid holidaymakers on waterways.
