Shahriar meets UK Sports Minister, MoU on sports dev agreed

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom (UK) have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for further development of Bangladesh's sports through wider cooperation.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam met UK Minister for Sport and Civil Society Mims Davies at Glamorgan Club House Lounge during Bangladesh-England match in Cardiff on Saturday (local time) and discussed the issue.

Davies described the meeting as "productive, interesting and a very wide ranging" one.

Both sides also discussed issues related to future trade and stronger cultural ties between the two countries.

Bangladesh High Commissioner in London Saida Muna Tasneem was also present, according to a news agency report.

Meanwhile, the UK FCO introduced three young Bangladesh-origin British citizens making significant contributions to various areas.

They are Mima Zaman, social media influencer, Nusrath Hassan, girl's education activist, and Nadia Ali, BBC Asian Network presenter.
