Dense fog has caused a highway pile-up on the Bangabandhu Bridge as several buses rammed into a bus that had hit another from behind.
The crash involving six long-haul buses was reported around 6am on Friday, when at least eight people were injured,bdnews24 said citing police.
“Four buses banged into one another after a bus had hit another near pillar No. 40,” OC Md Asabur Rahman of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station.
Traffic on the bridge has been remained halted since the crash.
Eight people have been taken to the state-run hospital in Tangail from the scene. Doctors said two of them were in critical conditions.
Efforts are on to clear the road, said the police officer.
