The driver of acting Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Secretary Mafruha Sultana, who was caught plying car on the wrong side of road in two consecutive days, was relieved of his duty on Tuesday.

Jakir Hossain, public relations officer of LGRD and Cooperatives Ministry, has said that Babul Mollah was relieved of his duty for facing penalty for driving vehicle on the wrong side.

Besides, a show-cause notice was served on him to explain the plying of vehicle on the wrong side again even after being penalised, he said, adding that departmental action will be taken against him later.

Earlier, the vehicle of Mafruha Sultana was caught red-handed while driving on the wrong side of a road during a drive by police.

The same vehicle again faced penalty while committing the same offence the following day in Dhaka’s Bangla Motor, according to UNB.
