No formalin - a harmful chemical for human body - was found in seasonal fruits during a recent test, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has said in a report.
The report was submitted by the BSTI to the High Court (HC) on Sunday as per the latter's order issued just last week.
The government agency prepared the report after its comprehensive gathering and testing of samples from different parts of Dhaka and elsewhere in the country.
A High Court bench is to hold hearing on the issue later in the day.
Earlier on June 18, the HC declined to accept a BSTI report on their action against the use of chemicals in fruits, reasoning that the latter did not conduct drives comprehensively across the country.
