A schoolboy reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Jashmantapur village in Magura on Tuesday night.
He was 10-year-old Nur Mohammad, son of Shafiul Islam and a student of class IV of a local school in Mohammadpur upazila.
Police said Nur demanded Tk 200 from his mother in the afternoon. Upon refusal, Nur went to his room, locked himself up and took the poison, reports UNB.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for autopsy on Wednesday morning, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mohammdpur Police Station.
