Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) counsel Khurshid Alam Khan told the High Court that ACC official Sharif Uddin who has recently been terminated from his service without any show-cause letter misused power.
During the hearing on a writ petition, the lawyer also said Sharif Uddin seized 33 bank accounts without any approval of ACC commissioners or any court.
"The official has tarnished the image of the ACC and thrown the organization into dustbin by misusing power," he added.
Action has been taken against him in accordance with the rules and there had been no violation of the law in this case, the counsel said, adding that there is no provision of issuing any show-cause notice for terminating any official under section 54(2) of the ACC (staff) rules, 2008.
