The recruitment test to appoint cash officers for Rupali Bank Limited has been cancelled due to power cut during squally weather in Dhaka.
Around 4,000 candidates sat the examination at Dhaka Mohanagar Mohila College at Luxmibazar on Friday afternoon.
Bankers Selection Committee Member Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Khan said the written test was scheduled from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
“The candidates could not even see one another’s face due to the power cut. So we’ve cancelled the test,” said Khan, a general manager of the Bangladesh Bank.
According to bdnews24.com, he said they would hold the exam in mid-April.
“We will announce the new schedule after it is finalised,” he said.
A thunderstorm in the capital in the afternoon left the city in darkness. Power cuts were also reported from several areas at the time.
