Roof collapse leaves three workers dead in Panchagarh

Three workers were killed and another three injured as the roof of a refuelling station collapsed on them at Khanpukur in Panchagarh on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Mawla Liton, 35, son of Akkas Ali of Purba Jalasir area, Babu Ali, 25, son of Yusuf Ali, a resident of Chanpara area, and Saju, 35, son of Abdul Baten of Darjipara area.

The roof of the under-construction building of 'Panchagarh Filling Station' collapsed around 1:30pm, leaving two workers dead on the spot and four others injured, police said.

The injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital. Among the injured, one died on the way to hospital.

Several workers also remained missing after the incident, reports UNB.
