A suspected robber was killed and another injured in a 'gunfight' with law enforcers in Munshipara graveyard area of Rangpur early Thursday.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive, said Babul Miah, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them, prompting them to retaliate, triggering the gunfight. After the gunfight, two bullet-injured robbers were arrested from the spot.
Later, they were taken to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital. But the on-duty doctor declared one of them dead, reports UNB.
