A motorcyclist died after a CNG driven auto-rickshaw hit him at city’s Malibagh area on Saturday, said the police.
The deceased was identified as Hemayet Hossain (35). He hails from Barishal district.
He was the son of late Firoz Bepari of Kazirhat village at Mehendiganj upazila of the district and run furniture shop at the city’s Rampura area, said the police sources.
Confirming the matter, Inspector Md Bachchu Mia of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost told the FE that Hossain was brought to DMCH in critical condition at 4pm.
The duty doctors pronounced him dead instantly, he added.
The body is kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy, Mia said, adding that lawmen seized bus and arrested its driver.
