A couple was killed in a road accident on Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ road in Jamgora area of Ashulia early Thursday.
The accident took place at late night when a speeding bus ran over the duo in the area while crossing the road, leaving Nurjahan dead on the spot and her husband injured, said Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Abul Awal.
UNB said the deceased were identified as Solaiman and his wife Nurjahan, garment workers of Setara Group in Jamgora area and resided at a rented house in the same area.
The injured was taken to nearby Women and Child Health Centre where doctors declared him dead.
