Ashfaque Uddin Chowdhury, a renowned banker of the country, passed away at 6.00 pm, September 04, 2022 (Sunday) at his residence in Uttara, Dhaka.
Mr Chowdhury was the founding managing director of Dhaka Bank Ltd, founding managing director of One Bank Ltd and an advisor of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. He was also a founding member of Prime University. He was also involved in various social and educational activities and set up a hafizia madrassa for orphan girls in his home village of Pyiam, Habiganj.
He leaves behind his wife, and three sons, Adnan Chowdhury, an educationist, Adil Chowdhury, a banker and currently president and managing director (CC) of Bank Asia, and Ahrar Chowdhury, a readymade garments businessman.
