The newly-elected Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has urged the city dwellers to abstain from littering and keep the city clean of their own volition.
He came up with the call at a special cleanliness campaign and a fresco programme in the capital on Sunday.
Atiqul inaugurated the drive and the graffiti programme on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Mayor Anisul Haque Road in the city.
People of different occupations, along with 180 students of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, 25 autistic children and more than 600 school students, participated in the wall painting programme.
