Rain to continue for two more days: Met Office

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday forecast that rainfall will continue for two more days all over the country commencing 6:00pm, reports UNB.

“The axis of Monsoon runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay,” said a Met Office bulletin.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Shylhet, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, it said.

Meanwhile, wind direction and speed in Dhaka will be at south/southeasterly (10-15kph) with temporary gusting to 30-40kph, it said.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall by (1-2)° C over the country.

The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 32 degree Celsius in Dhaka while the lowest  23.5 degree Celsius in Nikli.
