Rain likely to continue on Sunday

Rain/thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind, may continue in different parts of the country on Sunday, according to an official at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Talking to The Financial Express, Abdul Mannan, a BMD meteorologist, said rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind, is likely to occur in some places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. But it is less likely to rain in Dhaka. The forecast is valid from today (Saturday) evening until Sunday evening, the BMD meteorologist says.

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 36°C  at Rangamati and Sitakunda on Saturday, he added.

The BMD in a weather forecast this morning said weather may remain dry elsewhere over the country.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Met Office said that the day temperature may fall slightly while the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, he said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.

In its next 72-hour forecast, the Met Office said about a little change.

The sun sets at 6:06pm on Saturday and rises at 6:17am on Sunday in Dhaka.
