Several places, including Dhaka, are likely to witness rainfall in the next 24 hours, the Met Office has said in a forecast commencing 9:00 am.
Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Sylhet division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department or BMD said in the forecast on Tuesday.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the BMD said.
The Met Office added that a mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Faridpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia and it may continue.
Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, according to the BMD forecast.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the BMD added.
In its next 72h-hour forecast, the Met Office said there will be little change.
