RAB rescues 11 boys from traffickers in Chattogram

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive rescued 11 boys from the clutches of traffickers from Shantir Hat Bazar under Rangunia upazila in Chattogram on Friday evening.

The law enforcers also arrested a suspected human trafficker along with Yaba tablets.

The arrestee is Md Kamal Uddin, 25, son of Din Mohammad, a resident of Lusaipara village of the upazila.

The rescued boys are -- Mohammad Yamin, 15, Omar Faruk, 17, Md Sourav, 14, Md Anik, 15, Md Arafat 14, Md Rasel, 16, Md Sujan, 15, Md Maruf, 12, Md Abdul Hye, 16, Md Shahin, 12, and Md Sabbir Hossain, 10, hailing from Gazipur, Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram and Bhola districts.

Being informed by Md Abdur Rahim, father of Yamin, one of the victims, , a team of RAB, led by senior ASP Mimtanur Rahman of RAB-6, raided a hotel around 6:25pm and rescued the boys, said a RAB press release.

Later, they arrested Kamal and recovered 395 pieces of Yaba tablets.

During primary interrogation, Kamal confessed that he is a member of a human trafficking gang, reports UNB.
