Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five people in Dhaka city for creating fake accounts on Facebook using the names of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members and other national relatives.
They were involved in making deception, extortion and propaganda through the fake accounts, it said in a message on Thursday.
The identity of the arrestees and further details will be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day, added the message.
