The Rapid Action Battalion has cordoned off a suspected militant hideout in Mohammadpur’s Basila on the outskirts of Dhaka.
The elite force surrounded a house in the area around 3:00am on Monday, according to RAB-2 Company Commander Md Mohiuddin Farooqi.
“We’ll go for the next course of action after a RAB bomb disposal unit arrives,” he was quoted by bdnews24.com as saying.
Gunfights took place between the RAB and the suspected militants, and explosions were heard from inside the house, he said. The elite force detained a caretaker of the house and a man for interrogation.
