Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested a ward-level BNP leader of Dhaka North city unit from his Khilgaon residence early Saturday.
The arrestee is Mirza Hasan Imam alias Bulu, 50, organising secretary of ward-23 unit BNP, according to a UNB report.
Contacted, Commander of Crime Prevention Company-1 of RAB-3 Major Gallib claimed that Bulu was arrested along with seven patrol bombs and two crude bomb-like objects after 1 am.
Bulu had been planning to carry out subversive acts ahead of the upcoming national election, he said.
