Different socio-cultural organisations in Dhaka city on Saturday continued protests against rapes and assaults of women in the country.
Two of the organisations, Bhasani Onushari Parishad and Bangladesh Shikkhok Somonnoy Committee, staged the protests in front of the National Press Club.
Speaking at a protest rally organised by Bhasani Onusari Parisad, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) founder and trustee board member Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury demanded that rape suspects/convicts should not be given divisions in jail.
Bangladesh Shikkhok Somonnoy Committee formed a human chain in front of the press club too, to hold their protests against rapes and assaults of women.
During the programme, speakers demanded introducing capital punishment in rape cases.
