The prosecution on Tuesday completed its argument in the Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and five others.

On completion of the argument, Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 set up at Bakshibazar Alia Madrasah in Dhaka fixed Wednesday for placing the defense arguments.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia appeared before the court in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust corruption cases on Tuesday.

In July 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda, her eldest son Tarique, and four others of misappropriating over Tk 21.0 million that had come as grants from a foreign bank for orphans.
