Prices of rice and vegetables were seen to have a significant fall in Narsingdi district due to adequate supply of Aman rice and huge arrival of winter vegetables in the local markets.
Sources concerned said a bumper production of Aman rice during the current season induced the price fall in the markets.
At present coarse rice is being sold between Tk 35 and Tk 37 per kg. The price of aromatic rice is ranging from Tk 65 to 70, which was Tk 90 to 95 a month earlier, reports BSS.
Various kinds of winter vegetables have grown in the district in plenty during the current season.
Local market sources said compared to the last year prices of vegetables have registered a fall in the district this time.
