President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury have visited ailing Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Quader, the general secretary of Awami League, is suffering from heart problems. He has been admitted to the Coronary Care Unit of the state-run hospital on Sunday morning, reports UNB.

The President went to BSMMU around 4:17pm to visit Quader at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).

Abdul Hamid talked to doctors and enquired about the minister's health condition. He left the hospital around 4:38pm.

The Prime Minister came to the hospital around 3:30 pm on Sunday after returning to Dhaka from an event organised by the military in Rajshahi

Speaker Chaudhury arrived at the hospital soon afterwards.

Just a few minutes before the President's arrival, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina departed the hospital visiting Quader.

Later, BSMMU Director Brig Gen Abdullah Al Harun said as the Prime called Quader by his name at the CCU, the Awami League general secretary slowly opened his eyes and looked up.

He said Quader also stared at President Abdul Hamid during his visit.

Doctors said Quader has three arterial blocks, one of which has been cleared. However he remains in critical condition and is being ventilated to help him with breathing.

Though preparations had been made to transfer Quader to Singapore, doctors said they are unsure whether he is in any condition to be transferred.
