President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed profound shock at the death of Israfil Alam MP of Naogaon-6 constituency.
Israfil Alam MP passed away at a city hospital early morning, reports UNB.
In a message, the President said he entered the political arena through the labour politics. He always spoke about the rights of the hard-living common people in the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament).
“At his (Israfil) death, country lost a promising and dedicated political leader,” Abdul Hamid also said.
In a separate condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Israfil Alam, throughout his life, worked for the welfare of the country and the nation.
She prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to his bereaved family members.
Israfil Alam, also the joint secretary of Naogaon district unit ruling Awami League. Israfil was elected parliament member from Nagaon-6 (Atri-Raninagar) constituency for three times.
