President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated the Bangladesh U-15 women's football team for clinching the title of Jockey CGI Youth Football Tournament in Hong Kong.
Bangladesh U-15 girls emerged champions in the tournament outplaying hosts Hong Kong by 6-0 goals in the last match on Sunday.
In a congratulatory message, the President greeted all the players and officials of the team for becoming unbeaten champions in the tournament.
He also hoped that the winning trend of the Bangladesh girls will continue in future, Assistant Press Secretary to the President Imranul Hasan said, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, In a separate message, the Prime Minister also greeted all the players and officials.
"The whole nation is proud of seeing the team spirit of our players and their tremendous performance," she said.
Sheikh Hasina expressed the hope that the winning spree of the Bangladesh girls will continue in future.
She recalled Bangladesh women's football team's brilliant performance in the inaugural edition of the SAFF Under-15 Women's Championship held in December last.
Bangladesh became unbeaten champions in that tournament as they defeated India by 1-0 in the final at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium here on December 24.
