President pays homage to martyred intellectuals

President Abdul Hamid paid homage to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreath at the Martyred Intellectuals' Mausoleum at Mirpur in the capital on Thursday morning.

The President placed the wreath in the memorial museum at around 7:05 am to show his heartfelt homage to the great heroes, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the country and the nation.

The president stood in solemn silence there for some time as the bugle played the last post.

UNB reported the president talked to the war-wounded freedom fighters and their family members there and enquired about their wellbeing.

During the time, ministers including Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, local MPs were present.
