President inspects development projects in Kishoreganj

President M Abdul Hamid on Tuesday witnessed the progress of the construction work of Mithamoin Cantonment in Kishoreganj.

Engineer-in-Chief (E-n-C) Major General Md Jubayer Salehin along with some high military officers welcomed the President on his arrival in the project area under Mithamoin Upazila of the district, 

Later, a brief discussion was held regarding the construction work. The president planted a banyan sapling there.

President Hamid, also the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, witnessed the 275-acre cantonment area and the Abdul Hamid Polli adjacent to it, reports UNB.

Earlier, the president inspected the construction works on building "Rashtrapati Abdul Hamid Foundation" in front of his ancestral residence.

Local lawmakers Afzal Hussain and Rezwan Ahmmad Taufiq, Zila Parishad Administrator Md Zillur Rahman, Mithamain Upazila Parishad Chairman and President’s sister Asia Alam, President’s Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin, Secretary (Attached) Md Wahidul Islam and senior civil and military officials accompanied him.

The president arrived in Kishoreganj on August 22 on a four-day visit to witness some ongoing development projects in his native district and exchange views with the local representatives and professionals.

Hamid is scheduled to return to Dhaka on Thursday.
