President insists judges to ensure justice

President Abdul Hamid on Monday told newly-appointed Supreme Court judges to ensure justice for the people.

"[The] court is the last dependable place for people. And the court has a lot of responsibilities to ensure justice for the countrymen," said he.

Mr Hamid said it when three newly-appointed Appellate Division judges called on him, according to UNB report.

The judges are Justice Zinat Ara, Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee and Justice Md Nuruzzaman.

The President appointed them on October 8. Abdul Hamid congratulated them and hoped that they would give comprehensive efforts to help people get justice.

His Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters about the meeting.

The judges sought all-out cooperation and support of the President to ensure the infrastructural development of the judiciary.

President Hamid assured them of providing necessary support.

Secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban, among others, were also present during the meeting.
