Pre-hajj flights come to an end

A total of 60,139 pilgrims from Bangladesh reached Saudi Arabia at the last count this year for performing holy hajj, as the pre-hajj flights were wrapped up on Tuesday.

Of the total, 30,361 pilgrims flew by 87 flights of Bangladesh Biman, 23,914 went through 63 flights of Saudi Airlines and 5,864 travelled with Flynas, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said in a statement. Three carriers operated a total of 164 hajj flights.

Return hajj flights will begin on July 14 and will continue till August 4.

Hajj flights started from June 5 this year.

Rituals of the holy hajj 2022 will commence on Thursday evening and will continue till the evening of Tuesday next.
