Power supply to be normalised in November, Nasrul Hamid hopes

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has expressed his hope that the supply of electricity in the country will be normalised in November.

The state minister told reporters on Monday that their plan of ending load-shedding from October was not successful due to failure in bringing gas amid the global crisis, reports BSS.

Nasrul said the government thought that the energy crisis would be temporary but it went difficult to bring gas because the world situation has turned different again.

He said some power plants were shut down during the day due to load shedding, while some were running at night, he said adding, “That's why the place of load shedding has become a little bigger.”

The state minister said, "Hopefully, it will be a little better from next month.”

Replying to a question, he said that the situation would be normal from November.

“I expect that the situation to be better from end of October. But the demand in the industry sector has increased. So we have reduced gas supply to the generation of electricity,” Nasrul added.

He also urged everyone to be patient, as efforts were underway to improve the situation.
