Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has turned into a time-winning statesperson crossing the boundary of an ordinary politician.
“From a struggling leader, she (Sheikh Hasina) is now a time-winning statesperson,” he told the inaugural ceremony of a documentary exhibition marking AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s homecoming day on the premises of Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi, reports BSS.
Quader joined it through a videoconference from his official residence here.
AL’s information and research affairs sub-committee arranged the two-day exhibition titled “Sheikh Hasina’s Four Decades: Indomitable Progress of Changed Bangladesh”
AL Advisory Council Member Dr Mashiur Rahman presided over the function virtually while Dhaka University former Vice-Chancellor and chairman of the board of directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique joined it virtually as the discussant.
The AL general secretary said Sheikh Hasina has turned into a popular politician and leader of development from a struggling leader.
Because of her efforts, now the nation can know the true history of the Liberation War, he added.
He said as Sheikh Hasina returned home on May 17 in 1981 after a long exile, verdicts of the trials of killers of Bangabandhu and war criminals have been executed and thus Bangladesh got freed from stigma.
