BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir warned on Wednesday that everyone in the government will be responsible for anything untoward happens to Khaleda Zia due to the lack of her advanced treatment abroad.
Expressing concern over the party chairperson’s health condition, he urged the government to allow her to go abroad right now for treatment keeping aside political vindictiveness.
" All in the government will be sued for anything undesirable happened to Khaleda Zia for not allowing her to go abroad for specialised treatment," he warned while addressing a human chain programme, marking the 'Democracy Killing Day' (January 5) in front of the National Press Club.
The BNP has observed the day in the eigh consecutive years across the country.
He said the physicians were sincerely providing treatment to her at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
She has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since November last year due to multiple organ failure including liver cirrhosis.
"But despite the doctors’ efforts, an untoward situation might be appeared anytime to her. And if this happens, all in the government will be sued for pushing her to death," he warned.
He called upon all to create an anti-government mass protest on the streets to oust the government.
Convener of Dhaka North BNP Amanullah Aman presided over the event which was also addressed by convener of Dhaka South Abdus Salam, party's Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon and General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Iqbal Hossain Shyamal.
