BNP has announced a two-day countrywide demonstration programme for Friday and Saturday in protest of jailing their Chairperson Khaleda Zia in connection to a graft case
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme from a press conference at its Nayapaltan central office on Thursday.
He said the party leaders and activists will stage demonstrations across the country in a peaceful manner as per directive of their chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Fakhrul said Khaleda asked the party leaders not to take any imprudent programme and register their protests peacefully.
UNB said, Khaleda Zia was taken to old Dhaka central jail from Special Court-5 at Bakshibazar in the city as the court sentenced her to five years' jail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
