The body of an elderly woman who drowned while taking bath in a canal in the municipality area in Jhenidah was recovered on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Anwara Khatun, 78, wife of Emtaj Ali of Bhotiarghat village in the upazila.
Emdadul Haque Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Anwara drowned in the canal on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
A team of Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the body from the canal around 6 am, the OC added.
