Police remand instigator over Ctg 4 women rape

The instigator of a rape incident of four women during a robbery at a house in Chittagong’s Karnaphuli was placed on three-day remand.

Abdul Hannan alias Hannan Member, was remanded on Wednesday a day after he was arrested by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

Police said Abdul Hannan alias Hannan Member, hailing from Karnaphuli, is the mastermind of the robbery incident.

Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Khan passed the order after investigation officer of the case Shantos Kumar Chakma of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) sought a seven-day remand to interrogate Hannan.

PBI members also arrested another two- Abu Sama and Mizan Mattabar-- earlier on Tuesday for their involvement in the incident, according to local agency.

On December 12, a gang of robbers allegedly raped four women after committing burglary in a house at Karnaphuli.
