Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from Keraniganj, at the outskirts of the city.
Police found the body, with a scarf wrapped around the neck, on Thursday after locals at Munshi Noadda village reported.
“We suspect she was strangled to death,” said bdnews24 citing Inspector Md Shah Alam of the Kalatia police camp.
The body of the woman, estimated to be 18 years old, has been sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College for autopsy, he said adding a murder case has been filed.
In a separate incident, another woman was found dead in Keraniganj’s Charail late on Thursday, said Sub Inspector Akkas Mia of the Keraniganj police station.
He, however, could not provide any further details.
