Immigration police detained five Rohingya people at Darshana Joynagar check post in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga on Friday morning.
The law enforcers also seized fake Bangladesh passports from their possessions, reports UNB.
SI Abdul Alim, in-charge of Joynagar Darshana Immigration Police, said police detained five people as immigration office found discrepancies in their words and papers around 11 am and handed them over to Damurhuda Model Police Station.
Sukumar Biswas, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Model Police Station, said the arrestees confessed of being Rohingya people who came from Myanmar.
They were trying to go to India with fake Bangladeshi passports, the OC added.
