Police detain BSMMU doctor, 2 others with Yaba

Police have arrested a doctor of Banghabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and two other people from Bagur bus stand area in Chandina upazila of Cumilla district.

The arrestees are- BSMMU doctor Mostafa Kamal, a resident of Daliapur village in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district, and Moin Uddin, 42, hailing from Kalkini upazila in Madaripur and Hashu Miah, 39, hailing from Mohammadpur Shekhertek area in the capital, reports UNB.

Monirul Islam Chowdhury, sub-inspector of Chandina Police Station, said a patrol team of police stopped a private car on Dhaka- Chittagong highway on Friday night on suspicion.

They recovered the Yaba tablets searching the vehicle and arrested the trio.

After arrest, Mostafa Kamal claimed that he is a physician of the BSMMU, said Mohammad Ali Mahmud, officer-in-charge of the police station on Saturday morning adding that a case was filed.
