Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested seven members of a gang who were involved with the preparation of fake and adulterated sanitisers in the capital amid the Covid 19 crisis.
The arrestees are Mohammad Mohsin (24), Mohammad Abdul Quader (59), Mohammad Dalim (24), Mohammad Abdur Rauf (40), Mohammad Nuru Mia (50), Mohammad Ratan Mia (33) and Mohammad Ismail Ahmed.
According to the police sources, they were arrested in a raid in Babubazar and Mitford hospital areas under Kotwali police station on Friday.
At that time, 1,900 litres of fake and adulterated Savlon and 500 litres of fake and adulterated Hexasol were recovered from them.
A case has been filed with Kotwali police station in connection with the incident.
