Police arrested a local BNP leader from Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet on Saturday night in a case filed under the Special Powers Act.
Identified as Goyas Mia, son of Safiq Ullah of Brahmangram in Goalabazar union, he is an assistant general secretary of the party’s upazila unit. He is also a vice-chairman of the upazila parishad, UNB reports.
Osmaninagar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge SM Al Mamun said a team of them arrested the BNP leader Goalabazar at around 9:00 pm.
