Railway police have arrested the jailer of Chattogram District Jail along with Tk 4.40 million in cash, a cheque for Tk 13.0 million, 25.0 million FDR receipt, and 12 bottles of Phensidyl syrup in Kishoreganj.
The jailer— Md Sohel Rana Biswas—was arrested from 'Bijoy Express' train at Bhairab Railway Station in Bhairab upazila of the district on Friday.
He was returning to his Kishoreganj house from Chattogram, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Railway Police Station Abdul Majid said.
Police said the FDR receipt was in the name of the jailers' wife, UNB reported.
Chattogram Senior Jail Super Prashanta Kumar Banik could not be contacted as he did not pick his mobile phone despite repeated attempts, said the media report.
