Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday visited Dr Zafar Iqbal at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
She went to the CMH around 12:30pm and spent almost an hour there, PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim told reporters.
The premier talked to physicians and asked about the present condition of the educationist and renowned fiction writer.
Zafar Iqbal's wife Prof Yesmeen Huq and his daughter Yeashim Iqbal were also present.
The prime minister asked the authorities concerned to steps whatever needed for the treatment of Prof Zafar Iqbal.
Zafar Iqbal is now undergoing treatment at the CMH after he was injured in a knife attack on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus in Sylhet recently, reports UNB.
