PM visits Bangabandhu’s mazar in Tungipara

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has visited the mazar of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara of Gopalganj on Saturday.

She offered Fateha and special munajat there seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.

Earlier, the Prime Minister paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his mazar, reports BSS.

Secretaries concerned to the prime minister and local Awami League leaders were also present on the occasion.

Later, the Prime Minister held a meeting with officials of Gopalganj district administration.

At the meeting, she inquired about the progress of the development projects of the district, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

The Prime Minister, he said, also inquired about the ongoing anti-narcotics and anti-adulteration drives as well as the progress of freeing the district from beggars.

Sheikh Hasina asked all concerned to remain alert so that innocent people do fall victims to harassment while conducting anti-narcotics drive.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokhlesur Rahman and other senior officials of the district administration were present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister also handed over Eid gifts to the children and officials of Sheikh Russel Distressed Children Training and Rehabilitation Centre as well as officials and employees of Sheikh Jamal Youth Training Centre at Bangabandhu’s Mausoleum Complex.
