PM urges youths to be worthy citizens

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the nation will take step in the world arena keeping the heads high.

She urged the youths to build them up as the worthy citizens to keep the country's reputation going forever.

"I will ask the youths to build them, imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War, the spirit of the sacrifice of the tens of thousands of martyrs," she said.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the cultural programme at historical Suhrawardy Udyan through video conference from her official residence Ganabhaban on Saturday.

Ministry of Cultural Affairs organised the event to celebrate the 47th Victory Day.

"We have to remember all the time that we are the victorious nation, you must not forget this for a second, we never bow down to anyone," she said.

The eldest daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman also recalled the horrific days after August 15, 1975

Sheikh Hasina said that the defeated anti-liberation force thought that they will be able to distort the history of the country by killing Bangabandhu and his family members.

"I congratulate the people of the country, I give them salute as they give us the chance to serve them, for that we got chance to build the country with the spirit of the Liberation War," she said.

As a result, she said that the economy of the country moving forward, Bangladesh is treated as the role model of development in the world arena.

"Bangladesh is now in a respectable position in the world like as what it had got the dignity after the victory in the Liberation War," she said.

The Prime Minister said that the dignity that was shattered after the brutal killing of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been regained nowadays.

"Now whole world look at the Bangalees, so we have to continue this tradition in the coming days," she said.

According to UNB, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor also spoke at the programme from Ganabhaban through video conference.

After the inaugural speech the Prime Minister talked to some people who gathered at the Suhrawardy Udyan and witnessed the cultural programme for some times.
